I recently returned from the Frankfurt Bookfair. With over 4,000 exhibitors from around the world spread through six multi-story halls, it’s the world’s largest trade fair for book publishers. And what an event! Aside from a couple of meetings, I spent an entire day walking through the halls, chatting with a couple of European publishers I’ve had long relationships with but never met in person and checking out the Canadian booths. But the highlight for me was being invited to a tea ceremony at the booth representing Saudi publishers (pictured, right). And of course it’s impossible not to get caught up in the local foodie scene, with my last meal in the city comprising creamy pumpkin soup and roast ox!
